Applicants are expected to work or study in theoretical or experimental physics, high energy and/or particle physics or on other subjects related to the topics of the School. Selected participants will present their work in the form of a 25 min. talk.
Individuals wishing to attend the School are kindly requested to contact the organizers (pre-register) by e-mail starting from February 1, 2020. Young PhD researchers and senior PhD students will be accepted on the basis of the recommendation letter by a senior scientist from their institution.
Pre-registration deadline: April 19, 2020.
Note that not all applicants will be guaranteed to participate. Final decision will be announced by May 4. Successful applicants will be asked to register starting from May 4, 2020. Registration will close on May 24, 2020. Registration will be approved only upon receiving the conference fee of PLN 650 PLN (Euro 155 for foreign transfers) to be paid by the bank transfer to the School account, unless other arrangements will be made with individual applicants. Reduced conference fee for participants attending the jubilee session on June 15 only is 250 PLN (Euro 60 for foreign transfers) and should be paid by the bank transfer before May 24, 2020.
The total cost of the School is approximately PLN 1950 (i.e. an equivalent of about Euro 460 depending on the rate of exchange) and consists of:
Conference fee of PLN 650 (Euro 155) covering
coffee breaks, lunch and conference dinner on June 15, conference bus from/to Kraków, copy of the proceedings
or
reduced conference fee of PLN 250 (Euro 60) covering participation
in the jubilee session on June 15 including coffee breaks and lunch and the conference dinner.
Conference fee should be paid before May 24, 2020 by the bank transfer to the School account (with bank transfer costs covered by the participant). After May 24 the late conference fee is 800 PLN. Note that the conference fee does not cover the hotel costs (see below).
Hotel costs of approximately PLN 1300 (approximately Euro 310) covering:
Two nights in the University Guesthouse in Kraków (incl. breakfast) for approximately 400 PLN. Participants may choose their own accommodation.
Four nights in Zakopane: full board and lodging based on double room accommodation with another participant at the conference venue for approximately 900 PLN. There is an additional fee of PLN 300 (Euro 70) for the single room accommodation. Due to the limited number of single rooms participants requesting single room accommodation may have to stay in some other hotel within 10 min. walk from the conference site. Participants may choose their own accommodation in Zakopane purchasing lunches and/or dinners at the conference venue.
Board and lodging costs should be paid directly to the hotels in Kraków and/or in Zakopane (major credit cards accepted) upon checkout. Hotel reservation will be made by the organizers according to the information in the registration form. No individual hotel reservation is required unless you want to arrange your stay individually (please choose this option while filling in the registration form).
Young PhD researchers and PhD students are invited to present short (25 min.) talks on their work. At registration please provide a title and (if possible) references of published papers on which your talk will be based.
For some non-EU citizens an entry Polish visa is required.
In that case a letter stating that the student's home
institution will cover the costs of the School is required,
before the official invitation letter will be sent to the applicant.
After receiving the official invitation letter please contact the nearest Polish Consulate.
