It is with great sorrow that we announce that our friend, Dr. Ryszard Zygadło, unexpectedly passed away on September 6, 2010. Ryszard has participated in all Smoluchowski Symposia and organized most of them. Ryszard was an engaged, deeply thinking physicist, a modest personality, a loyal and humorous collegue, a great companion in everlasting discussions on nature, science and condition of the world. Over the past years he served as our Representative in the Senate of the Jagiellonian University. We will miss him very much.
