We develop the realistic continuum shell model which includes the coupling between many-particle (quasi-)bound states and the continuum of one- and two-particle scattering states. This microscopic approach is applied to the description of the two-proton radioactivity from the excited state 1^-₂ in ¹⁸Ne.
