Recent results from the H1 experiment on inelastic J/\psi photo- and electroproduction in ep collisions are presented. The complete HERA I data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of \sim 80 pb^-1, are compared to Colour Singlet Model (CSM) predictions and calculations based on non-relativistic QCD. First measurements of the polarisation of the J/\psi meson are shown.
