The STAR detector at RHIC has made a wide variety of measurements from \sqrt (sNN ) = 130 GeV Au + Au collisions. The overview presented here focuses on hadron production. The yields and spectra of various hadronic species have been measured giving information on the properties and evolution of the fireball created in the collision.
