The PHOBOS detector, one of the two small experiments at RHIC, focuses
on measurements of charged particle multiplicity over almost the full phase
space and identified particles near mid-rapidity. Results will be presented
from the early RHIC gold--gold runs at nucleon--nucleon center of mass
energies of 56 and 130 GeV as well as the recently concluded run at the
full RHIC energy of 200 GeV.
