Neutral Currents in 14N-Nucleus

Dan Mihailescu, Daniel Radu, Ovidiu Dumitrescu

The parity and isospin forbidden p0-decay from 14N*(J\pi =2+; T=1; Ex=9.17225 MeV) to 13C (g.s.) has been theoretically investigated via 13C( \vec {p}, p)13C resonance scattering of polarized protons. Considering various strong and weak interaction models, the longitudinal (AL) and the irregular transverse ( Ab) analyzing powers have been calculated in the energy range around the 2+, Ex=9.17225 MeV-resonance in 14N*. Energy anomalies for the expected interference effects, relevant for the experiments, have been found to be AL= ( 0.19\div 1.82)\times 10-5 and Ab=( 0.6\div 5.6)\times 10-5. In addition, the circular polarizations of the 2.36018 and 9.3893 MeV \gamma -rays, populating the 2+0, Ex=7.02912 MeV and the ground state in mbox {14N-nucleus,} have been found to be (0.22\div 2.07)\times 10-3 and (0.20\div 1.89)\times 10-3, respectively.
